Visitor Visa Section: Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa – TRV)

Canada welcomes millions of visitors each year for tourism, business, family visits, and special events. If you plan to visit Canada, you may need a Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa – TRV), depending on your nationality and purpose of travel.

  • A citizen of a country that is not visa-exempt for Canada
  • Traveling to Canada for tourism, business, or to visit family and friends
  •  Attending a conference, event, or short-term course
  •  Seeking medical treatment in Canada

If you are from a visa-exempt country, you may need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead.

  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay in Canada
  • Strong ties to your home country (such as a job, family, property, or assets)
  •  A clear travel history and no immigration violations
  •  A genuine intention to leave Canada at the end of your visit
  •  No criminal or security concerns

Types of Visitor Visas:
